 At that time the country was ruled by the Swedes.  The governor here at the time was Mr. Chamas.  He was staying at the Queen's Hotel in Kandy in those days.
  
 It was Vesak Poya day.  From upstairs, Chamas saw Buddhists worshiping the Tooth Relic.  The Governor could not bear to have such a devotional reverence for the Sacred Tooth Relic among the Buddhist people.  He became angry and resentful of the Tooth Relic.  The governor immediately ordered his officials to find a blacksmith with an anvil and spice.  After bringing the blacksmith and the material, it was ordered to bring the sacred tooth relic to the Madduma Bandara Uyana in Kandy.
 After a while everything happened as the governor thought.  Kinihiriya - The Governor has ordered that the Tooth Relic, which was taken out of the palace by the spice and blacksmith Madduma Bandara, be placed on the Kinihiriya.
 The Buddhists who went to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, who knew instinctively what was going to happen, waited in tears.  Rang Ethana of Moragolla, who is now 104 years old, was among them.
 The governor ordered the blacksmith to place the sacred tooth relic on the anvil and crush it with a fork.  The royal order is bigger than the Buddha's order.  The blacksmith placed the Tooth Relic in the middle of the anvil, lifted the spike and struck it with a sledgehammer.  But the Tooth Relic was not there when the nut approached.  "Oh my gosh ... oh my gosh ..." everyone started shouting.
 The governor was furious.  Come two feet and grab the blacksmith by the neck and find Ko Thope Buddha .. quickly find.  Or the mouth would be paralyzed by death.  Sudda and his officers searched for the Tooth Relic.  Nowhere to be seen.  The anvil was examined to see if it was crushed, but there was no such sign on the anvil.
 Ko Thope Buddha Hoyapiyaw .... or Thopi kills them all.  It did not take more than a moment.  The torrential rain began.  The rain, as big as a crane, suddenly began to fall.  We waited for a while for the rain to stop, but it never stopped.  White and his companions rushed to the Queens Hotel in the wet.
 The rain that started never stopped.  The assembled Buddhists also ran to the adjoining stalls, soaking wet.  It is raining non-stop.  It rained non-stop not only that day but also that night and not only the next day.  The whole of Kandy is like a lake.  The walls of the Nuwara Wewa built by King Sri Wickramarajasinghe were about to burst.
 The governor was upset.  It was like running here and there.  There is nothing that can be done.  If the lake explodes, the Queens Hotel will be closed.  The governor immediately summoned his allies.  Go now and tell those who claim to be Buddhists to come and see me now.  The daughter was ordered by the governor.
 After a while, a few Buddhists came and got wet in the rain.  Parai, go now, go now, do not come to this side without the Buddha.  Hats off to everyone.  Get out now.  The governor ordered the Buddhists present.
 Buddhists began to look for the Sacred Tooth Relic around the Sri Dalada Medura and in the Madduma Bandara Uyana.  Two or three elderly Buddhists who were there entered the room where the Sacred Tooth Relic was staying in fear and looked at his place.  They proved that the Sacred Tooth Relic was still shining brightly in the same place where it used to be, without any fuss or danger.  Alas Sadu Sadu was read to them automatically.
 Father Sambuddha, have mercy on us.  For two weeks our poor people have been starving without food or drink.  Please have mercy on us and give us relief.  Although the culprit was white, it was our people who were persecuted.  Please have mercy on us.  They continued to beg and came from behind and came out of the Temple of the Tooth.  The rain had stopped completely.  Not a drop falls.  They immediately went to the Governor and informed him that the Sacred Tooth Relic was still functioning as before.
 The governor was fed up with this incident and moved abroad.  The Sacred Tooth Relic .. The public opinion that if it is lifted, shaken or taken out, it will rain has sunk into the Buddhist community even today due to this incident.  May Rang Ethana's grandmother, who revealed this news with difficulty, see the Buddha and attain Nibbana ...
