Hubble Space Telescope Supernova Explosion!

The Hubble Space Telescope has photographed a supernova explosion in the spiral galaxy NGC 2525, about 70 million light-years from Earth.
To the left of the photo below, the supernova appears as a bright spot of light.
The supernova that occurred in 2018 was named SN 2018gv and has been observed by the Hubble Space Telescope since February 2018.
Originally seen as a very bright spot of light, this supernova has gradually diminished in brightness and gradually disappeared.
By now, this may have largely become a neutron star.
What makes this type of supernova explosion important to us is that we can use their brightness to calculate how far away that supernova is from Earth.  Then the distance to the galaxy where the supernova is located can also be calculated.  In this way, scientists calculate the distance from the Earth to the farthest galaxies in the universe.
